Facing It …

IMG_3164

It’s the second week of Summer vacation.  And I don’t want to face it.  Why?  Well, because it involves the following:

  • Rain. Want to make a mom crazy? Have rain AND kids stuck inside during Summer. It’s wrong. Wrong, I tell ya.
  • Packing up my girl and sending her off to camp for the first time. Kayaking and campfires. Mosquitoes and biting flies. Laughter and moodiness.  It will all be there.
  • Single mom life while the Hubby is away for most of the week.
  • The gym. I didn’t go at all last week.  I need to go every day this week. I don’t wanna.
  • Cub Scout camp. Wherein I am the chaperone for a night and pretend I can herd twenty cats.
  • Ear doctor appointment. So excited to find out more about my deafness.
  • Baseball practice. Cross Country practice. Dance Festival practice.  Yep, he’s well rounded, that Bic C. and I am his mom chauffeur.
  • Best friends leaving to go to Utah for a month. A MONTH. There will be heads hanging in sorrow and people whining about loneliness/boredom.  Sadly, I am talking about myself.
  • A messy house.  It hasn’t been clean since school got out. I do not foresee it being clean until school starts again. Still, I try and fail almost daily.

This is why I don’t want to face the week.  Instead, I would like to go somewhere sunny and warm where there isn’t a ringing in my ears or fighting children.  Any suggestions?

I would like a messy kid house. Everything's pretty tidy here because the winkies are gone and the big isn't really playing much. Ah, the blessing of a messy house. (just to give you a different pespective on that one...the bigger the mess, the more fun was had).

Balancing life and emotions during summer is serious work! You're doing great, I think.

Yikes, what a week. Especially with hubby out of town...and dragging kids around in this rain. Hope your Dr appointment goes well.

Sorry for your troubles, but you ARE funny. At least you can see the humor. Or maybe its just me. ;-) Just breath one day at a time, at least that is my mantra.

Your house may be messy all summer but you can have those children help clean it throughly once a week, make em earn their keep and all that summer fun.

Best friends gone but brother, sister-in-law and cute girls in town for 2 weeks...that should help.

Ear appointment, it will be good to get the skinny on Otosclerosis.

I went twice to the gym last week, I don't want to do it either but I must and so must you...when you can fit it in.

No hubby, no big cooking. Order pizza.

On rainy days clean the house. I'm so grateful I didn't have to water today. Several very HOT days are headed our way...like 99 degrees... you'll be wishing for a rainy day.

Herding cats describes all youth camping experiences to me except for the ones when I was a girl. Drama for sure coming up for Hannie B, hopefully some good times too.

Before you know it the summer will be over and you will have faced it all.

Everyday I will check in on your blog to get my Samantha fix. You will have fun with visiting family and summer time that you'll not even notice the 4 weeks passing. By the way, 4 weeks is shorter than 1 month. At least by 2-3 days, right?
