This is Mindy. She is a rockstar.
I loved her the very first time I met her and saw that red hair.
Then she started talking and using big, complicated words. CORRECTLY. I was smitten.
I’m so glad she married my baby brother!
While I was in Kaysville staying with her she helped me make a baby quilt for my bestie Ronalin. And by helped me, I mean she made the entire thing and I ironed the fabric.
Can we talk about the fabric for a minute? I wanted the quilt to look good with a vintage school map Ronalin is going to hang in her baby’s nursery so we went with turquoises, navys, grays and oranges.
The fabrics were modern and fun, but not babyish AT ALL. This orange chevron rocked my world.
My favorite fabric had old ledger paper with writing on it. I pretty much died when I saw it in Mindy’s fabric stash. And she let me have it. Dang, I love her.
I also really loved the orange houndstooth binding. Okay, who am I kidding? I loved every single fabric so much!
Ronalin absolutely swooned over the quilt. I know her little guy is going to look so cute laying on it. It is going to be fabulous in the nursery. But I do have to admit, there was this tiny little part of me that wanted to keep it for myself. And I don’t even have a baby!
Thanks Mindy for being awesome. I know how hard you worked on this quilt for my friend. I know you did it because you love me and you know how much I love her. I really owe you big time.
