My, How They’ve Grown!

P8140012

Exactly seven years ago a new family moved into our neighborhood and church congregation. From the minute we met them, I knew we would be best friends.  They happened to have kids the same ages as Hannie B and RedDog (and eventually Ollie).

Here are Hannie B and Abby seven years ago after picking blackberries.  My girl was just six!

And here they are earlier this week:

These are two very special girls. And after seven years, they are still the best of friends.  They just get each other. It’s not work for them to hang out. They have hilarious senses of humor! And they both try to make good choices despite the pressure from peers. I always feel relieved when they are together enjoying their easy friendship.

I was lucky enough to be catch them on camera as they made cupcakes together the other day. It was a very happy afternoon in our house.

As you can see, these girls are two peas in a pod. We are going to miss our Abby when she moves to Texas next week. She’s the best!

What sweet friends. That first picture is what they looked like in my primary class. It's amazing how time flies.

They are so cute I can hardly stand it. So sad the Mecks are leaving.

And, I can see within those sweet faces these young chums' moms, fast friends just as they are. Such a forever delight.

I really enjoyed seeing these girls together from strawberry picking to baking. They are like mini-Samantha and mini-Ronalyn.

Oh... What a great friendship they have. I'm sad they too had to say goodbye. But I'm sure your family and the Mecks will still be in contact and have adventures together from time to time. There are way too many reasons to do so!

These photos are so much fun and they are so cute!
