Seven and a half years ago we received a trampoline as a Christmas present from my in-laws. I was a little skeptical at first. Our kids were little – eight, five and two.
But I have to say that the trampoline has been the single best present our kids have ever gotten. (Okay, a trip to Hawaii ties it.) They have used that trampoline more than any other toy we own. In fact, they’ve used it right into the ground.
I have pictures of all my kids on this trampoline, jumping their heads off, playing silly made up games, eating clean snow, chasing the sprinkler’s spray. Even little Ollie has been jumping since he was a wee toddler. It is a happy place, our big ol’ blue.
A few weeks ago big ol’ blue gave up the ghost. Springs started popping left and right. The Hubby and and the older boys spent an afternoon disassembling our dear trampoline while Ollie watched in dismay.
We went an entire week without a trampoline. It was too long for all of us. So I ordered a new one on Amazon and it was here five days later. We all helped build the new trampoline. And today Lucy and Ollie spent an hour on it with the sprinkler underneath.
Happy. Real Happy.
We are trampoline lovers. What should we name her?
