A Little Overloaded …

IMG_2469

I am up to my eyeballs in laundry! This was yesterday before I finished the last three loads. It was the leaning tower of laundry and I made darn sure to let it all sit there leaning until every last person came home and saw what I’d done. Or maybe I should say, what they’d done.

We are down to the wire here. Two days of school left. I am processing a plan in my mind because reality is kicking me in the tushie right now.

My summer plan has to do with three words: WORK, LEARN, and PLAY. I think if we do a little bit of those three each day, we’ll be good.

I love my kids. I love when they are home. Sometimes it is really hard when they are all home together though because they are wacky and love/hate each other. I guess it’s a good thing that starting one week from tomorrow, at least one person will be gone for three weeks straight at a camp of some kind or another. Then June is over. Wow.

And July is already gone for our family. Totally and completely gone. More on that later.

So really, I just have to survive August and I’ll be okay. I can say this much: Summers a changin’ around here. It’s not laid back and casual anymore. It’s FULL UP IN MY BUSINESS.

While one kid is at camp, the others will be cleaning out closets and toy rooms with me, sorting Legos, exercising, reading and going to the pool a lot. We’re going to eat FroYo. We’re going to make a bird feeder and do Cub Scout belt loops. Hannie B.is going to continue honing her cooking skills. Ollie is going to do some letter and number work.Big C is going to run 500 miles. I’m going to get some projects done around here and read a stack of books that have been sitting by my bed for a while.

And most importantly, I’m going to insist that everyone wear only one outfit a week or go naked because I am not doing eleven loads of laundry again in one day.

Over and out.

Your summer approach is my role model.

I have discoverd that no matter what systems or themes or plans I set in place for summer, it never quite pans out the way I thought it would.

I am just happy to have a WHOLE HEALTHY summer ahead of us!

laundry is often the bane of my existence, however I have quite a few people that would love to run around naked so I endure.

Sounds like you will have a wonderfully busy summer.

What an accomplishment, looks so fresh and pretty all stacked up on the table.

A small solution: Chris and Hannah are old enough to do their own laundry, including bedding.

I think you're going to have a great summer but it will go way too fast and yes, your summers ARE changing.

I agree with the Queen, start teaching Big C and Hannie B how to do their own laundry. It's never too early to learn these things...

And now I think, I finally read all your post! :) Ha! This one was more than a month ago... You can continue with more Road Trip posts, I'm ready! :)

Well, I hope you had a great Fourth and that you are enjoying your time in Utah!
