Owlie’s Hawaii . . .

I can’t get enough of that turquoise water! Neither could Owlie.  He loved being in the water and playing with his brothers and sister.

I do need to say one thing about the plane rides. Owlie was a GEM! Ninety-eight percent of my anxiety about going on this trip was tied to taking a three year old on an eleven hour plane ride. I get sweaty armpits just thinking about it. But, luckily for me, he got some pirate swords and spy glasses in his stocking from Santa. They kept him busy for about six hours. The other four and a half were spent in sweet slumber thanks to a fourth of a Dramamine wrapped up in a fruit snack.

I was proud of Owlie for strapping on a life jacket {something he refused to do three months ago at swim lessons} so he could enjoy Waimea Falls and do some rock hunting.

Owlie loved spending time with his cousin James who was in Hawaii for the first five days of our visit. The two of them go buried on the beach with big smiles!

This is how Owlie spent his time during “The Christmas Canoe” at the Polynesian Cultural Center. I think he was still on Virginia time and we wore him out every day!

After a very HOT two hours at the Honolulu Swap Meet {think EVERYTHING touristy Hawaiian all in one gigantic spot} Owlie was all for a little impromptu picnic including Icee Pops.

There are no words for how much I love this picture of my tiny boy with a tough tattoo. He was so sad when it washed off the next day.

Again, I have major love for this next picture. It is Owlie with surf hair after an awesome day at the beach. Sigh. Can you see all the freckles?

And lastly this picture is what our trip was really about. Owlie just hopped right up on the couch for a snuggle with his Papa. He was so happy to be with him and I feel happy every time I see this picture.

Owlie still talks about Hawaii almost every day. I know he won’t remember our trip for too long, but I have these pictures to show him of the memories we made. Love that little fella.

PS. Did I mention he came home with a ukulele?

He is such a funny cute kid, and growing into a big boy...except when he's snuggling Papa Bob and sleeping on his dad's shoulder. Then he's still looks like the baby of the family.

Just can't pick a favorite of Owlie. He has mastered adorable in every single one. Glad for you and the rest of the family that he was an angel on the plane. I remember feeling that plane stress when we took Owen to Germany.
