This was my house on Sunday evening. The scene was set for a dinner group of eighteen from our church congregation to join us. It was a great opportunity to get to know some families we were otherwise unfamiliar with.
Only one problem: we do not have seating for eighteen! Do you? We resorted to bringing the craft table up from the basement and setting it up in the library for extra seating. With the extra leaf in our kitchen table, each room could seat six. Whew!
As I was putting the finishing touches on table setting in the dining room I looked up and realized that I had almost a mirror image in the library. Weird!
I’d pretty much convinced myself that the layout of our house wasn’t meant for entertaining, but after this nice evening, I am reconsidering that thought. I just needed to think outside the box a little.
Come back tomorrow for a closer look at something and new in the picture above. Hint: It smells like barbeque!

Looks like a shot from an expensive and very exclusive restaurant.
I love the Tulips! I had 18 people over at my tiny Army townhome for early Christmas. I actually have enough tables and enough chairs to seat 15. I blame those Nelson sisters. Their rubbing off on me. =)
DF, please delete the top comment which isn't from me. Dad posted that and I don't know how he did it, of course neither does he.
Magazine ready, that's what your home is.
It's so lovely! I hope it was wonderful.
So pretty. I think your house is meant for entertaining. Every time we entertain, one of my thoughts is this: we're being a good example to our children on so many levels.
I've never had better entertaining than at your lovely home(s)! I sincerely mean that. Looks like you got a beautiful new hutch of some sort, can't wait for its close up!
Just had to leave another comment telling you that your parents crack me up!
