Because my boy is going to be wearing one for the next three weeks. Seriously though, isn’t it the cutest little boot you’ve EVER seen? I’m trying to look for the positives here. In other good news:
- The break was not displaced in any way, so he’ll be back to normal pretty quickly.
- We can take the boot off at night and to bathe our boy.
- It was awkward at first, but Ollie is already running around in his boot like a pro.
- He only cried once yesterday – during the x-rays. I can’t blame him, there is a lot of big, creepy hospital equipment in there.
- Everyone is doting on Ollie like crazy and he is just eating it all up.
- The x-rays revealed that he does indeed have separate bones in his little twinner toes. We are still set to do absolutely nothing about it. :)
- The Hubby came up with a great idea for repurposing the file cabinet. More on that later.
Thank you for all your well wishes yesterday. It is never easy to see your little ones hurting. Your prayers and wishes carried us!
Now we’re going to chill at home, read some library books and heal.
ps. Photos by the Queen. Thanks, Mom, for being with us yesterday!
pps. Here’s a little video of Ollie workin’ the boot.

Do you think at the end of three weeks he will be attached to his boot?
I would dote and love on him and give him many squeezes too. Get well quickly little Ollie.
Ollie, you've got some serious style. Black boots are my favorite! Enjoy the attention and lovin'. We're sending some your way too.
Sending a prayer for sweet Ollie
The boot is a miracle invention for children! Grace broke her leg last year and was in a boot for 6 weeks. I couldn't believe the improvement over the traditional cast! Better sleep, better smell, better scratching those itches.....But seeing such a little guy in a boot is both so cute and so sad! Blast those childhood accidents which we moms can never totally avoid! BTW, Grace still pulls her boot out to wear every so often....weird!
Looks like he's doing well with that boot! So cute.
I just want to eat him up! LOVED the video!!!!
He's so cute in his boot!
That video is adorable. He's gotten so big since I last saw him crawling around the blanket, pulling his hat off at the softball field. He's very busy now!
Small children and breaks are the worst! He's darling, boot and all.
I can't wait to hear about the re purposing.
I am happy that he is doing well with the boot. Thanks for that video, just so so cute.
Ollie does not seem to be hindered one little bit by his new boot...that video of him is just darling! THank heavens kids are generally so resilient! He seems like a real trooper. So happy his foot is going to be okay!
He is sooo cute, boot and all. What a tough little guy.
He is already a pro with that boot! So happy it wasn't anything worse. By the way, my 2 year old saw the video of Ollie and pointed to his little brother (who just turned one) and said "two! Two babies!" Yep, he likes "babies". :)
What a movie star, Owlet you're rocking the boot action. Another bonus, with the boot you won't be sneaking up on anyone.
seriously love that boy!
Oh my goodness poor little Ollie!!! So so sorry!!!
And yet... if it must be... then he is so so cute in his little boot :)
So glad to see he's overall okay. Phew. Hang in there Ollie (and family!!)
Oh, I'm so sorry about his little foot. He is so so cute in his boot though! Hope it's a fast 3 weeks and that he's all better soon.
