That Time I Ran A 5K …

THE race was on Saturday.

My thighs are still sore.

It was sunny and the skies were blue.

But it was also windy and really cold.

I threw up at the finish line.

I now own a neon orange shirt with turkey feet on it.

I was faster than about one hundred fifty people.

I was slower than about six hundred and fifty people.

The race was all trail and almost entirely made of hills.

My sisters stayed with me the entire time even though they could have left me in their dust.

My dad and friend Susan came to cheer me on.

I can’t lie. I am glad it is over.

I am planning to run another 5K on December 31st.

Did I mention I threw up at the finish line?

I’m just classy like that.

Proud of you, you had great support all the way to the the finish line. Looks to me like the worst part was at the end but worth because you now are the proud owner, and rightly so, of that turkey footed bright orange shirt. You can wear it when you go hunting.

So cute that Hannie B ran the race too….oh to be young and frisky.

Great job! That is a cold race. I did it once. That was enough for me.

I'm proud of you for setting a tough goal and meeting it! And I heard with my own two ears a certain Hubby encourage you to continue running and entering races!
May you accumulate many more race shirts (of the non-orange, no turkey feet variety).

Looks like someone puked up a sweatshirt. Next time you come to rural Wyoming in October, you'll know just where to wear it!

I would have thrown up in the car on the way to the race!
Way to go, Sam. Be proud.

I hope you are totally proud of yourself, throw up and all! I know I'm of the crazy sort who love to run....but I'm glad to hear you are doing another in December. Eventually, I might even become something you look forward to! :)
