Remember That Experiment?

IMG_0431

Yeah. If you asked me how it’s gone since then, I’d say it was super effective in changing the slobtastic habits of my children. NOT.

These pictures were taken yesterday while the kids were at school.

I’m collecting allowances today so I can go on a date with my Hubby. What good is a consequence if you don’t follow through? No good at all. A date with a hot redhead, on the other hand, is very, very good.

I don’t have the mental energy to fight the mess these kids make right now. I only have enough energy to collect their monies.

In other news, I owe my Hubby an apology for not recognizing his hard work to make my birthday surprise party a reality. He was one of the masterminds behind it – even held meetings with coconspirators - and he is awesome times five. Thanks dear, for making me feel so loved!

I hope Soren's dresser doesn't fall over with all those opened drawers.

Maybe you need to do the Uncle Kirk method of cleaning which means confiscating their messy stuff and then they have to earn or buy it back.....of course you need energy to do that.

That goofy redhead is one TERRIFIC guy, I'm really grateful you got him to marry you. He's beyond goofy, he's GREAT!

A mother's life is keeping track of her own stuff, health, agenda, obligations AND all those of the little people in her care. More importantly, a mother's got to teach the little people who are becoming big people how to do all that on their own. That's hard and exhausting work, though also very rewarding.

I almost always feel like I'm dropping that ball on that with somebody in some way.

Go enjoy that date, Dragonfly!

I like Uncle Kirk's method! Though I didn't like it that much when my mom implemented it to us when I was little... But it's a good method for them to learn that things have it places.

Yeah, enjoy the paid date!!!
