A Totally Clean House …

I have to admit, it felt really great for as long as it lasted. This is what it looked like yesterday at 12:00.  I wish it looked like this all the time. It does not. It does not look like this now. But I have these pictures to keep me sane for the next six days. Let’s play I  Spy while we look, shall wee?

The Kitchen (I Spy Owlie)

The Dining Room (I Spy a new rug!)

The Library (I Spy the new homework spot)

The Master Bedroom (I Spy half a Hawaiian coconut)

The Master Bath (I Spy the Savior)

Hannie B’s Room (I Spy some Chapstick)

The Kid’s Bath (I Spy RedDog’s deodorant)

Owlie’s Room (I Spy five Owlies)

RedDog’s Room (I Spy a tiki mask)

The Basement (I Spy a pirate ship)

Craft Area (I Spy a trophy)

Play Room  (I Spy Owlie’s “car”)

Big C’s Room(I Spy an Eagle)

To answer a question from yesterday, the kids have NO IDEA about the experiment. I knew if I told them, they would go out of their way to behave differently. Instead, Hannie B. guessed I was taking all these pictures because we’re either selling our house or a magazine wants to do an article on us.

That is one tidy, beautifully decorated, visually pleasing home you have there, Dragonfly.

I was pondering your experiment yesterday and I thought that my kids would only notice once they ran out of clothes...which, if all was initially clean, would take longer than a week.

Bravo on the new homework space solution!

I love that we got to see your whole house and that we finally saw the finished basement. What a beautiful home you have!!!!! :)

I am really excited to see how the experiment goes!!

Love, love, love the home tour. You are a decorator extraordinaire, everything looks dusted, clean, neat and in place, you are a wonderful homemaker. Wish you would come help me with my house!

I loved the home tour. I got to see some parts that I've never seen before (basement and play room). Your house is so well decorated!
But there are two things I like so much:
- The globes collection at the Craft area and the word "IMAGINE". So beautiful.

- The location of Owlie's bed with two windows, specially that one on the side. It's perfect to wake up looking out the window each morning. In my book this is awesome! I hope Owlie enjoys it too.

I'm looking forward to the tour at the end of the week.

P.S: I smiled at Hannie B.'s guessings about the photos.

The house looks great, each and every room. Let the games begin.

I spy a Walter Rane print that I intend to own one day. I spy a craft area that would make my girls drool. I spy a crazy mama who dares to have white couches in her family room. I spy a missing living room.

Wowie! I don't know if my house has ever been that clean!

Where did you find the globe mobile in RedDog's room? My family moves around the world every few years, so I have this world map obsession. I'd love to find something like you have for my daughters nursery.

Anne - I got the globe mobile at the Restoration Hardware outlet about five years ago. The large world map on the wall came from maps.com. We put a star on every place we visit!

I love that you put a star on the map every time you visit somewhere new!

You're in the DC area aren't you? Is there a Restoration Hardware outlet in that area? We're moving there this summer and I think we'll be scoping out the outlets to help furnish our place.

Anne, there is a Restoration Hardware outlet here in Leesburg - about 45 minutes from DC!

First, I admire you more than you will ever know! You are so amazingly talented, brave and creative. I want to be like you when I grow up =)

Second, you just blew my mind when you said there is a Restoration Hardware Outlet in Leesburg! I had no idea. I love their catalogs and was dying to get my hands on some of their beautiful treasures.

Third, I have got to go shopping with you sometime! How in the world did you find so many gorgeous things? I love, love, love your house and sense of style. The French Country touch is subtly evident and I adore it!

Fourth, I wonder if my Hubby would be on board with an experiment like this...hmmmm....wheels turning!

My favorite part here is that Hannie B. sees all this cleaning and thinks you are either selling your house or famous. So funny!
