Early Morning Surprise …

We got a knock at our door at 7:15 a.m. yesterday morning!  I was in my pajamas with the previous day’s make up on and a coif of hair done up special by the night time hair dresser. Really lovely.

It was our neighbor wondering if the little boys wanted to climb in a REAL firetruck parked in front of her house.  They were so excited!  Owlie ran over barefoot in his long jammie shirt, but was too scared to actually climb inside.

RedDog had no such problem.  He climbed right in, touched buttons and switches, tried on head phones and generally oohed and aahed over the entire truck.

Now for the best part:  our neighbor’s kids were riding in the fire truck TO SCHOOL! I have to write it again because it’s so awesome.  They were riding a freakin’ firetruck to school!  With the lights on.  And they got to sound the siren as they pulled into the school parking lot.

WHO DOES THAT??????

My neighbors, that’s who.  It’s moments like this where I realize that the awesomeness of parents is huge and this family just took it to the next level!

And my kids got to touch and climb around an actual fire truck before school while I photographed it in my jammies with CRAZY hair. Nice.

Wha!!!??

That's absolutely incredible!

I want to hug your neighbors and tell them how awesome they are.

Be thinking about this all day with a big smile on my face.

How did the neighbors pull that off/make that happen? Don't let the local taxpayers know, they'll send them a bill for a zillion dollars. How cool and fun that your kiddos got to be a part of the early morning action. They'll never forget the experience.

Queen, they won it in a silent auction.

That's some awesome silen auction! I'm impressed your jammies covered all the essentials. I'm also wondering what happened to Hannah cute tiny thigh. I see a bandage wrapped around it....

Squeeze Me, she pulled a muscle in volleyball. Her dad decided to end the drama of it all by giving her a "super daddy bandage". In other words, wrapping the leg up in an ace bandage quieted the whining real quick! Smart Daddy.

At first look (before reading your words) I thought that something happened...

That's so cool!!! What a great auction that was!!! And it's great that your neighbors let your kids participate too!

hahaha I'm imagining me as a little girl riding to school in a firetruck! That would have been awesome! :D
