My Baby the Space Alien …

IMG_3619

Hello. My name is Samantha.  I am a mommy-on-the-edge who neglects her blog and has a space alien for a son.

My life has been taken over the following:  the desire not have to spend another minute with all four of my children together {kicked in full force about three days ago}, the preparations for one in High School, one in Middle School, one in Elementary School, an Eagle Scout Project for which I am primary chauffeur, slave driver and sounding board, a half potty trained/half diaper dependent three year old with an iron will, a daughter wading – no  wait – FULLLY SUBMERGED in the throes of puberty, and a hearing problem which has decided ringing of ear and permanent hearing loss are not quite enough symptoms to make me crazy, oh yeah, and space aliens.

So. Process that for a minute. And then forgive my neglect and absence.

Then please enjoy some photos of my alien son.  It is ironic that these pictures were taken in the bathroom because he really hates the bathroom right now as it involves pooping.  Alas, it is the only fully darkened room in our house during daylight hours and hence the perfect location for shooting his alien laser beam fingers in a fierce show of superiority.

I’m pretty sure that if an entire band of aliens this cute attacked the Earth, we would be rendered obsolete. Let’s hope the same isn’t true for this blog.

PS. Yes, I know he isn’t technically a baby any more. But he is MY BABY. Always.

You have good reason to wish for back-to-school order. More time to deal with ears & potty training.

Alien fingers are the best!

You just need to survive the next month, oh wait months, no that would be years.

Potty training to teen angst, you can do it.

I want to hang in the dark bathroom with that funny alien.

PS, don't you even think of quitting your blog!!!!!!!! But do take breaks if you need to.

Hang in there! I was thinking of you lots today as they are discussing the final year of Heidelberg High School this year on the radio. I'm definitely in survival mode too, counting down until the insanity of school gets going so I will have two less kids asking what they can eat every other time I turn around and try to finish a task :) Wish I could enjoy this time more, but we're all anxious for change! "Just keep swimming!" And keep blogging as able, we miss you but understand.

As always, you are such an inspiration . . . and your blog is one of my 'daily' specials - love, love it! Take your breaks, endure the 'growing' years and hang in there!! Wish the hearing problems didn't exist but I feel you are strong and will master this challenge too!

I was wondering about your absence here on your blog...
I understand why you want your kids to go back to school... Actually when I was a kid myself, by the end of August I already had enough of Summer and wanted to go back to school and see all my friends.

I am with The Queen Vee, never quit your blog!!! :D

Oh, today I received a postcard from my sister and that made me remember about the postcards I sent last June from Mexico. I sent one to you and the Queen... did you receive it? The ones I sent to my parents and my sister never arrived... :(
