Sweet Dreaming …

In my girl Hannie B’s dreams, she will one day own a cupcake shop with a clever name where she will don an awesome apron and bake delicious goodies that everyone raves about.

For the past two weeks, she’s been preparing for that dream and I couldn’t be more excited for her!

She’s been participating in a ‘Summer in the Arts’ program offered for Middle and High Schoolers in our district.  She goes to a local high school every day from 9:00 to 2:00 and attends classes just like at school.  Except these classes are AWESOME. And they all involve artistic endeavors.

Her schedule this summer includes four classes: Dramatic Interpretation, Watercolor 101, Pen and Ink Drawing, and Cake Decorating 101.

She brought these dainty floral cupcakes home yesterday for us to devour. I was impressed. I told her she’ll be my go to girl for cupcakes from now on.

It is really wonderful to see a child doing something they love and are good at.

We will attend a gallery exhibit on Saturday to view her finished art pieces and watch a dramatic piece done by her class on the stage.

It’s been a fantastic summer “camp” for Hannie B.  She’s given me permission to share this cupcake with you.  Enjoy!

That camp concept is genius! I'm so glad she has had this opportunity. That she's so good at it, well, that's the icing on the cake!

Not fair! I wish we had something like that here. My Addy would absolutely love it. She, too, is an amazing artist and devoted cupcake maker. They might be besties if they knew each other. :) Way to go, Hannah!

Great work Hannie B! That sounds like an amazing summer camp. Enjoy it! They certainly didn't have anything that cool when I was a kid.
