Summer Love …

lemonade2

{Photo by my brother with his AWESOME big camera}

I am adoring this photo my brother took of the individual bottles of ice cold lemonade lined up like soldiers ready to march for the cause of quenching thirst on our 100 degree Fourth of July day, their red and white paper straws standing at attention.

The bottles were a great inspiration from our last Queen’s Dish.  Once my mom told me how she got herself a set, I begged my dad to consume mass quantities of Starbucks Frappucino for me so I could have a complete set of twelve by the Fourth of July.  Thanks Daddy! And thanks also for drinking twelve more bottles for Ronalin.

They really are the perfect size {9.5 oz} and the labels came off easily with a quick wash and some Goo Gone. I’ve been hoarding the red and white paper straws since Christmas. They were a gift from the fabulous Jennie Doezie and were most certainly made for our patriotic holiday.  Or for Christmas or Valentines Day.  But really, for the 4th, because look how awesome they are.

The kids loved their bottles of lemonade with straws.  I love that I now have this set of bottles to use for BBQ’s or kid parties or to line flowers up in a row on my table.

You should got get some Frappucino.  Drink it if coffee’s your thing. Or dump it down the sink.  The cute bottles are totally worth it!

Those straws are so pretty. What a wonderful thing to have friends with such great taste!

We used recycled Bonne Maman jelly jars as everyday drinking glasses. Which is a good thing because that jelly is super expensive and if my kids break a glass, I don't get upset.

We didn't get to have any fireworks on the 4th. Instead we exploded diet coke and mentos. It was fun. Although now Sylvia's yard smells of diet coke and mint. =)
