Remember this lovely piece of artwork I made for the Hubby for Christmas with all of our important dates on it? I threw it into a frame that we already had because I was trying to save money.
While I like the shape and design of the frame, it’s silver color didn’t go great with our bedroom which has mostly gold toned frames. Really, my whole house has gold frames. This silver one stuck out like a sore thumb.
I’ve been wanting to try Rub n’ Buff for a long time after reading about it on several decorating blogs. It comes in a little tube and you just rub it on with your fingers then buff it with a dry cloth. After one coat of Rub n’ Buff, my silver frame turned into this:
I really love this product. It isn’t like gold craft paint which always looks fake and is never the right color. The patina on this color is awesome. You would never guess this frame had been silver. The darker parts of the carved design show through.
It’s all I can do to not turn everything in this house gold. What about you? Do you need more gold in your life?
PS. Rub ‘n Buff didn’t pay me to rave about their product. I just like it a whole lot.

I have a few frames that need Rub & Buff.
Looks like a quick and easy transformation!
You've got it, THE TOUCH.
Thanks so much for using AMACO's Rub 'n Buff - glad to see this product worked out for you. The frame looks great. We have a new Rub 'n Buff Facebook page if you'd like to share or see other projects. Thanks again!
That's fabulous! You just solved a problem for me! I've got these four black thrifted carved wood frames that I've wanted to be gold and frame the kids pictures in. Which gold did you use - I'm guessing antique, not Grecian??? Here I come Amazon! Can't wait for the final closet reveal, especially the shoe solution!!!
I haven't hear of Rub 'n Buff before but it looks like a really cool product!
Just for fun, I added up all seven numbers on your chart.
As of 5:23 PM, 16 March, the population of the United Staes was estimated at 313,194,362.
Your families numbers add to 317,532,036.
The Lee Family wins!
