Turning On The Light . . .

IMG_9384

The sunlight streaming in through my dining room windows was such a welcomed sight this morning after a few weeks of rainy, cold and gray. Ollie and I stood in the ray of sun and soaked it into our skin, feeling it warm our faces, seeing it in reds and oranges through our closed eyelids.  Then I opened my eyes and saw this:

Possibly the dirtiest window known to man.  Sometimes all it takes a is the right kind of light to help me see the things I’ve neglected and need to improve.

The windows will have to wait for a few more weeks until the major coat of pollen falls off the trees.  Until then, I’m busy prepping the basement playroom for paint, finishing the organizing of our craft space, designing a free printable for YOU, and making Spring Break plans for my kiddoes.

All of these projects are giving me lots of time to think and to contemplate the messages I heard over the weekend during our church’s General Conference. It is the best kind of light to me – spiritual light.  You can hear my favorite talk here.  It has to do with light and it spoke to my heart.

Have you checked your windows lately?  Are they letting in light?

My windows are good. It's my screens that are the problem.

We are people of the light. No putting a bushel over us. Dirty windows or not. =)

I'm with you, no washing windows until after the pollen and the rain.

I continue to work on the spiritual light and finding direction, I figure it's a life long process. There were so many good talks this conference, hard for me to pick a favorite although this would be one of them.

I really enjoyed Elder Bednar's talk too.

I can't wait to see the free printable you've designed. I bet they rock!

Our Spring Break is over so I'm trying to plan Easter instead. I feel like this year is zooming right by me.
