Dear Grandma,
Thank you for going to lunch with me yesterday. Our two hour rendezvous was just what I needed to get me through until you come back in July.
I hope you will forgive me for falling asleep the minute you got in the car. That’s no way to treat a beautiful woman I haven’t seen in almost a year!
I love this picture of me and you because our eyes and hair are the same color and even though I look really weird, you look really wonderful!

I don't say this to be a "woe is me" (really I don't, I've long since accepted how my family works) but I really hope you and your kids understand and are grateful that you have two sets of grandparents who love and adore their grandkids. It isn't the norm. You've got something special. I'm extremely envious of it.

Your kids sure were so happy to see you at school saying you were taking them to see their grandparents at the airport!
