It’s been quite a week here at our house. Recent events have caused us to experience the entire gamut of emotions. Let me demonstrate:
Happiness. I have aptly named Big C’s basketball team {coached by the Hubby} The Little Team That Could. At the beginning of the season their star player was diagnosed with a rare form of Lymphoma and has not played since the second game. Fueled by a desire to encourage their sick teammate, the rest of the boys have given their absolute all this season and are currently the ONLY undefeated team in the league. They are one win away from playing in the championship game tomorrow. Even better, the boy with cancer may be playing in the game! It’s like a Disney movie, but it’s our life! Fingers crossed for a win tonight.
Sadness. The Hubby, who has poured his heart and spirit into coaching this team, will not be able to be at the championship game tomorrow. I know he is disappointed. But his heart is in the right place. More on that in a minute.
Illness. Really, this could go under sadness. Our Mr. Ollie has been quickly ravaged by the influenza. It has been a tough few days for him and me. Lots of fluids – and not the good kind. Lots of crying. Lots of fever. I have never witnessed a more pitiful wretch than my baby lying on the floor staring off into who-knows-what, moaning. It really needs to end soon or I need a raise, because I’ve been taking care of some nasty business!
Grief. The last grandparent between my Hubby and me has finished her journey on Earth. Grandma Lee was a feisty, strong and hard working woman. She lived a long and blessed life. We know that she is in a better place, but still, we mourn the loss of the only Great Grandparent our children will likely remember and have increased gratitude for the many memories she has helped to create for our family. The Hubby will miss the game tomorrow to be with his family in Utah to celebrate his grandmother.
As you can see, emotions have left us a tad on the weary side this week. But emotions are great, because they help us remember, realize and rejoice.
We love you Grandma Lee!

You are right, lots of emotions for one week.
I'm so sorry for Grandma Lee's passing. All my love to all of the family.
On the other hand, I hope Big C and the rest of his team play wonderfully well tonight and can make it to the championship! All the luck!
Poor Ollie, I hope he gets well soon.
My condolences. :(
Good luck to Big C and the team, and good luck to you and Ollie! Poor baby.
What a difficult week you are having! We are thinking of you.
Hope you see the silver lining soon. Prayers for a good weekend.
Real life is never dull and sometimes it's very hard.
Grandma Lee, well she's in a place now that also is not dull and hopefully not at all hard....a long life lived well.
Oh my goodness, so sorry to hear about Grandma Lee and about little Ollie's health, not fun things! Congratulations to Christopher's team, way to go!!! Good luck getting through the weekend.
Poor Ollie. The stomach flu is something I wish I had to the power to abolish. I truly detest it with all my being.
I'm sorry for the passing of Great Grandma Lee. I'll pray for your family.
