Twisted . . .

The Littlest Fellow had his six month check up yesterday. I can't believe it's already been half a year. Time to record the details of the visit.

Here's what we know:

He's 16 pounds 12 ounces.
He's 27 1/2 inches long.
He's got a wee head.
His chunky thighs withstood the pain of four shots.
He can roll both directions.
He's days away from sitting up unassisted.
He likes cereal, but only when it's sweetened with the good stuff, like bananas or apples.
He has one tooth and one on the way.

Here's what we don't know:

Why in the blessed world he is still pooping ten {yes, ten!} times a day.
Why in the world two of those poops have to be in the middle of the night.
Why in the world he won't let his momma eat dairy or sleep for more than three hours.

It is a twisted world, my friends, and not just because I mentioned poop twice in one post.

Oh, hang in there with the sleep. I feel your pain. Claire's been sick and so the sleeping has been horrible the last week or so. Ollie's outweighing Claire but she probably has a bigger head. She only loves cereal sweetened with the good stuff, too. And she just sat unassisted in the last week or so and she still falls over occasionally. Hooray for cute Ollie!

You can Ferber all you want, but if the kid craps himself awake twice a night, what's a mama to do? Take naps, I guess, and clean the house when Ollie's two. Hang in there!

P.S. If you do the Biggest Loser Yoga workout, Bob will make you do the exact same move as little Flexi-Owl.

Here's the poop: I talked about that stuff a lot when my kids were Owlie's age. For me, the day was measured out in dirty diapers. But a lot of folks in my life thought I was a somewhat obsessed crackpot. Now I'm wondering if it isn't a bit genetic?! :-)

I know your pooped, ha ha, so is Owlie. It's worth it though and you know it. He's just cute and soon he'll be wearing a tie and giving talks in church. Cherish this time as it is moving at warp speed....really it is.

I'm sorry you are still getting lack of sleep!!! Like everyone has said, this too shall pass and you will soon be sleeping for more than 3 hours at a time! Hang in there.

My little guy, Ben, woke up every three hours until he was almost 10 months old. Didn't think I would make it, but somehow I did. He is only 15 months old now, but I look back on those first ten months and cherish the middle of the night time I had with him. It was so peaceful. Granted, I only had wet diapers and no "pooperdoops" (as well call them in our family) to deal with, but it is still a wonderful time all the same....

None of my kids slept thru the night until they were a year old. I'm convinced that the lack of sleep is what pushed my PPD into full-on clinical depression, so whenever I hear of women struggling with sleepless babies, I get really worried. I know it will likely pass soon, but if it's at all possible, have someone else take the night shift every day or so. Or hire a babysitter and sleep during the day? Hang in there, girl!

Oh, and Owlie is way cute, as always. :)

Some poop ten times a day, others once every ten days. Both painful. Where's the happy medium?

10 poopers a day? Girl! Forget the Bumbo... I should have bought you stock in Huggies!!!
Love and sleepy thoughts sent your way. ♥
