Endless Possibilities . . .

It's happened. I'm in another one of my hyper-project-accomplishing phases. I'm pretty sure the Hubby is glad I get this way every six months or so -- otherwise not much would get done around here. There does seem to be a direct correlation between the amount of projects accomplished and the number of days before house guests come. In this case, we're down to sixteen days before my very much adored in-laws arrive.

Today I needed a quickie project since Wednesdays are our busiest day of the week in the kid activity realm. I stole inspiration from Joy, who always makes something fabulous out of things she has lying around. The players in today's lineup are: A small cheese dome and glass plate I got at a garage sale two years ago for $2, a fake crystal candle holder the Hubby and I got as a wedding gift 13 years ago, and my trusty HGG. (Hot Glue Gun - but you knew that!)

I gave the crystal candle holder a very generous application of hot glue. Can you already see where this is going, or are you too busy shaking your head and saying "She did NOT just hot glue that lovely crystal candle holder!" Trust me - I think these kinds of holders can be beautiful and make a really nice impact in a shabby/cottage home - but only if you've got a large number of varied holders to display together. I only have this tiny little one and its companion, who better watch out, because I have ideas for him too.

Next I centered the candle holder on the bottom of the glass plate and let it dry for at least thirty seconds. (Patience when it comes to letting projects dry is not my forte.) (Okay, who am I kidding - patience in general is not my forte . . . something I am ALWAYS working on!)

Here's my finished project . . . a sweet little cloche wannabe/petite cake stand! This little beauty is currently being used for my Halloween decor. I'll have pictures of that another day. In the meantime, go look around your house and see if you have anything you can repurpose. It's definitely a rewarding little fix for a list-checkin', project-accomplishin' gal like me and really, the possibilities are endless!

You've convinced me. You are a genius! I have one and a half crystal hurricanes. Very ornate. Tell me what to do with that oh mighty craft maker!

Your little creation is just waiting for a rat or skull to complete the look, at least for Halloween.

Kudos to the Queen of craft.

We're all sleepy eyed here in CO as we stayed up watching all of North and South last night. All would be Matt, Mindy, Emily and I along with two babies.

You are brilliant!

I need to shop with you and your repurposing mind some time soon!

Just curious, how many times have you used your trusty glue gun in the past week? month? year?

Seriously. You need your own craft show. Okay, I would totally make that if I had any of those items, but I don't.

W-O-W. That's all I have to say about your crafting. Do you supply motivation, too? or does that cost extra?
