I Looked Out The Window . . .

Some of you will be finishing the rest of the title for this post in your head - because you know the song! Here's a little history for the rest of you: The organization in our Church that children age 18 months to 11 years old belong to is called the Primary. I am currently a teacher in the Primary, teaching Hannah's class of 8 year olds turning 9 this year.

It is a wonderful organization that really provides a foundational knowledge of Jesus Christ for these kids. One of my favorite things about it is the music the children learn there. Sometimes, during the three (yes, THREE) hours of church, I find myself most moved and touched by the Spirit when I am listening to the children singing songs about the Savior!

One of the songs the children learn from a small age is called "Popcorn Popping". It was written in 1924 by a woman named Georgia W. Bello. It is a cheerful ode to Spring and the blossoms on the trees that look like popcorn. I was driving home today and passed this tree - had to stop and take a few pictures because it immediately made me think of this song. How beautiful! How thankful I am for a God that created such a magnificent Earth!

Soren and I sang the song on the way home with big smiles on our faces. You can click here to hear the song! Hope you're having a great Spring day too.

Those are beautiful trees! As of right now it is snowing/sleeting and we are all waiting to see how much snow is supposed to fall overnight! Those trees look yummy!

Love the pictures. Love the song. I started singing it as soon as I read the title of your blog. It's interesting to me how those songs from primary stick in our minds like glue.

I love that song, it always makes me hungry though. Love spring too! So sad that it's such a flash in the pan especially here in old Vriginny.

My parents actually have an apricot tree in their backyard, We missed all the flowers by a week, I was bummed. I loved Baltimore last weekend and seeing all the blossoms. It made me sad to be away from the East Coast but anxious that spring is here! Great pictures!
