Our last day of school party was all sorts of fun – despite a nasty gnat situation that had me waving my hand in front of my face for two hours! We have traditionally done an ice cream party, but Hannie B. is obsessed with Little House On The Prairie right now and she really wanted to do a party that had a more old fashioned vibe. All of the kids seemed to have a great time even though the food we ate included little to no high fructose corn syrup and the games we played involved no modern conveniences, gadgets or trickery.
Scroll down to enjoy some pictures and see who won the June giveaway at the end!
To eat:
Big watermelon slices, saltwater taffy, chocolate chip cookies and THE Rainbow Cake.
To drink:
Pink lemonade and water.
To play:
Three legged race, drop the clothespin into the jar, bean bag toss, egg-on-a-spoon relay.
To end it all:
Write a summer wish on a balloon (ala Nie Nie) and send it into the stratosphere.
So, Summer is here and I’ve got family in town for a reunion so blogging may be at a minimum, but stay tuned for some exciting reveals of things we’ve been working on behind the scenes here.
Congratulations to Christy who will be getting the three flag holder to put on her mailbox in good ol’ Kansas (state of my youth!). It’s on it’s way.
Happy first day of Summer!

I LOVE the cake. Addy saw it and I'm sure she will insist we make one at some point this summer. And I'm so excited for my little flag holder. :)
Cake, kids, games, outfits, watermelon....happy day for all.
My kids are jealous and would like to be your children from now on. I have to say Sam that you always throw the best parties!
