Trippin' With Numbers . . .

It's hard for me to capture this last trip in words and pictures and I'm not sure why - I've sat down at the computer three times to do it. I've stared at the keyboard each time, gotten up and left.

So, if I break it into two parts, then surely I'll feel less overwhelmed. Maybe not, but I'll have it finished - journaled. recorded. out there for the world to see. history. done.

And to take an even bigger cop out , I'm going to do it by the numbers, since my brain hurts because sleep is evading me and I feel hungry at ten o'clock at night (dinner time in California/Arizona.) I keep thinking this is some kind of joke - we've been home now for almost five days and I am still totally messed up in the time zone arena - seriously, we are all still very, very Messed Up!

Our California leg of the trip was five days long. These are the facts:

Two hours - the amount of time our flight was delayed from Las Vegas to Los Angeles.

Three - the number of times Red Dog called the slot machines "Those dumb machines that people play on to lose their money".

Forty-two - The number of horn honks Hannie B counted while we waited at LAX for our ride (I won't include the 53 whistles from the airport police).

Five Minutes - the amount of time it took for us to get from LAX airport to our first In N' Out Burger.

Twelve O'Clock Midnight - the time it was in Virginia when we finally arrived at the Grandparents house - and still, no child had given in to sleep.

One - the number of fabulous sister-in-laws I got to hang with.

Seven - the number of cousins during this leg of the visit.

Three - the number of hankies needed during "Kit Kittredge" movie.

Twenty - the total number of hours spent in the swimming pool by the kids over three days.

Five - the number of In N' Out cheeseburgers I consumed while in California. (don't judge me)

One Hundred - the number of rocks RedDog tried to bring home in his pocket from Oxnard Beach.

Fifty - the number of waves Big C rode in on his boogy board.

One - the number of times the Hubby got in the water at the beach.

Two - the number of cute grandparents holding hands, walking on the beach.

One Thousand - the number of pictures the Hubby and I downloaded from Grandpa's digital camera onto his computer!

One - the number of girls made giddy by bringing home a doll from the American Girl store in LA.

Three - the number of times I woke up and exercised.

Five - the number of pounds I gained due to eating delicious food non-stop. (Hello chocolate caramel milk shake from the "Coffee Kiosk" - I love you.)

Five - the number of nights we stayed up late talking and reminiscing.

Four - the number of houses from the Hubby's childhood we revisited during our tour of Moreno Valley.

Three of each - the number of tickets, treats and souveniers bought at the Angels Baseball Game.

Zero - the number of times I had to tell my kids to stop fighting.

Without Number - the number of smiles, laughs, and memories created on this leg of the trip.

Enjoy the photos - no number needed. :)

OH MY GOODNESS! The beach, American Girl and In-N-Out are all pictures I have of the past 3 weeks to post. I am so sad that we didn't know we were going to be there at the same time. With Steve gone, it makes me nervous to post about us being away until after we are home. I am so happy you had a great time! Enjoy the rest of your summer and get some sleep!
