We did it! We found a sitter for our three boys and stole away to New York City with Hannie B for an extended weekend! This is our first time taking a one kid trip. I’m not gonna lie – it’s really nice to be able to focus on just one child at a time. It’s a rare indulgence for both of us. It’s also really nice to not worry about herding cats onto the subway. The thought of Owlie in NYC gives me the cold sweats.
Yesterday we spent an emotion filled afternoon at the 9/11 Memorial. I couldn’t stop crying while we were there. The memorial, the feeling that is there, the sound of it, it is all beautiful and it touched me deeply.
Today while the Hubby has business, my girl and I will head to the top of Rockefeller Center, do a little ice skating, find a delicious cup cake shop (her wish) and then catch a viewing of The Lion King on Broadway.
We’re staying warm, eating delicious food and then walking it all off, taking in the sights, sounds and smells of the city and enjoying our girl.
Happy Monday to you. Hope it’s the start of a great week!
PS. If you’d like to see more pictures from our NYC trip, you can find me on Instagram as compound_eye. I didn’t bring my big camera, just my phone, so these are from my phone!
