Stormy …

IMG_3382

If you pay attention to the news, you may have heard there was a freak storm here in the East on Friday. It walloped the punch of a hurricane without any of the pre-warning to evacuate.

We spent fifteen hours in the dark with no air conditioning on the hottest day of the Summer at 110 degrees plus humidity.

The little kids were pretty freaked out.  Owlie woke up at 10:30 when his fan suddenly turned off, the wind started howling and the thunder boomed round after round.  He wouldn’t go back to bed until almost 2:00 a.m.

I felt very grateful that we’d had our trees trimmed a few weeks ago as we woke up to mostly just leaves and small branches covering our yard.  Others were not as lucky.

I personally love a good storm and an excuse to light the candles in a dark house.  But I am saddened by the destruction this one quick, powerful stormed has left in its wake.

I hope you were all safe from nature’s wrath this weekend.  There is too much heartache going on right now in our country with wild fires and stormy weather!

I read a comment from The Queen on facebook about a storm, but didn't realize until later that day, when I read a online newspaper, how huge the storm was.

Yeah, such perfect timing about the tree trimming thing!

Glad to hear your family is safe, Sam. I was at Young Women camp(in Haymarket), with our 2 older daughters, when the storm came rolling through. It was a bit scary out there. I think most of us won't forget this years camp!

Scary weather happening plus a lot of other scary stuff. Newt Gingrich says the storm and results from it are a mild taste of what a electromagnetic plus would do to our electrical system. Lets hope we never get one of those because the situation many find themselves in right now from this storm is a health and safety disaster. There is a lot of crazy scary stuff happening everywhere.....

Many things I wish I could control. The weather, for example. I would make all the bad weather happen to remote or uninhabited areas of the world.
