Anatomy of a Picture …

We tried {and failed} to get a nice picture of all the Lee kids on Easter Sunday. Instead we got twenty mediocre and somewhat hilarious pictures.  Here’s what the winner is composed of:

EXHIBIT A – One tweenaged girl in a consignment shop dress who snuck her mom’s lipstick, crossed her legs and sat prim and proper for every single picture.

EXHIBIT B – One teenaged boy who looked like a baby giraffe with his legs folded up to sit on a too small bench and refused to smile with his teeth showing because he didn’t want anyone to see his {shock} braces!

EXHIBIT C – One two year old boy who insisted on plaid and stripes and  recently took a faceplant on concrete leaving him with a shiner, a fat lip, a scabby nose and an inability to sit still for even ONE picture.

EXHIBIT D -  One brother who needed a haircut and busted out his best fake smile for most of the pictures unless he was being choked by his younger brother {see below}.

If you’ve every tried to get a decent picture of your kids, you know this is nothing new. It is a trial of patience and fortitude. After twenty minutes of trying, the Hubby and I just laughed, told them we were done and then went to church.

We’ll try again next year.

I love them just as they are - dear, happy, and wiggly. It's a marvelous gaggle that you and Travis have. Thank you for sharing the Easter morn photos.

I think your subjects are much more amenable to being photographed than ours. They look cute in every flub! Great hair Hannie B!

I love these pictures, a great contrast between the teens and the younger ones. C and H, look very grown up. S and O look and act like the boys they are.

At least you got Easter pictures! I don't know what I was thinking or doing, oh yes I do! Trying to get out the door for church by 8:45. And after church? Everyone's Sunday clothes melt off them as soon as the garage door goes up!s

Hilariously similar to the events in our home Easter morning in our photo attempts!

hahahahahahahahaha this second picture is just hilarious! hahahahah I can't spot laughing every time I look at it.

I think you could start a tradition of taking funny pictures of your kids every year. I think I would like to do so when I'm a mom, could be really fun!

In the first picture though, I think they all look great! What a bunch of cute and beautiful children you have! {I know you already know that, but I couldn't stand saying it!}

And I love Hannie B.'s hair! She is such a beautiful young lady!
