The Hubby and I received a book as a wedding gift called “The Family Christmas Book”. In it are blank pages with spots for family photos, Christmas cards and newsletters. There are lines for writing about Christmas plans, visiting guests and special Christmas traditions. I love going through it each year, reminiscing on years past.
My favorite part is looking at our old pictures and marveling at how the children have grown.
This is the picture from our first Christmas in Virginia. RedDog is five months old. His sweater was the inspiration for the entire photo. Hannie B. had just turned four and would still let me put obnoxiously large bows in her hair and Big C., with his white hair, was about to turn six.
Now some of my kids are gigantic, hormonally imbalanced and taller than me.
I think I’ll post a few more of our family pictures in the coming weeks. I’m feeling nostalgic like that.
Here’s one last shot from the same day. The sweater, the two teeth, those blue eyes, and that RED hair. Swoon.

Your family is very photogenic at any age. The Family Christmas book is a great wedding gift idea.
A beautiful stroll down memory lane. It's fun and a little heart wrenching to look back.
such a good idea! I'd love to see more photos!
Yes, please, share with us some old pictures!!! These two are priceless!!!
I like your long hair! You look just gorgeous!
And those little teeth... sweet!
Cannot be sure that I will put a Christmas Book together this year (but will think on how I can catch up on 45 Christmas celebrations) . . . Yet, I shall indeed collect all of the little photos randomly boxed and will place them in a big bowl or dish . . . we usually do this on birthdays and it's so much fun. But, never before at Christmas. It's a must. They are like little appetizers without calories that you don't swallow . . . just savor.
Thank you, Sam, for yet another of numerous inspirations.
Linda
