Gratitude Week 2011: Beary Thankful …

Ignore {for a second} the fact that this two and a half year old is still clinging to his pacifier like it’s a buoy in the open seas.  Look at that hat.  Is it not the cutest thing you’ve ever seen?

Well, he hates it.

But you’d better believe I’m bribing him in all sorts of ways to wear it.

Want a jellybean?  Put on your hat and I’ll give you one!

Want to scare Daddy?  Be a bear with your hat on!

Want your pacifier outside of your bed? Let me take a picture of you in your hat!

He’s such a mug.  I just want to eat him in this hat. I do eat his neck every single morning just to hear him gut laughing while saying “Stop Mommy!”

All this to say that I am very grateful to have this little buddy in my life. I would feel very lonely without him.  He keeps me grounded and makes me think  outside of myself.  He also keeps me on my toes with his busyness and his energy.

Lately his big thing is singing.  He does it all day long. He knows words, he knows tunes, he knows titles.  He asks me to sing them to him and then halfway through immediately tells me to stop so he can sing.  Current faves: Twinkle Twinkle, Little Star and Wheels on the Bus. Man, it’s awesome.

What a sweet little bear my Owl is.

The hat is indeed beary cute.

sooooo cute. And don't worry about the pacifier-- sometimes that just happens. My 3 year old still insists he's "sick" just so he can cuddle with his paci and blankie in bed. He's so darn cute about it, I can't bring myself to say no.

I love this photo! He is too cute. Congratulations on getting that picture too. My little guy has an owl hat just like that one, but refuses to wear it even for the two seconds to take the picture.

Also, I ironically was just thinking about you this weekend, wondering if you had tackled the binkie issue yet. I haven't either since his attachment to it seems to have gotten much stronger recently. All in due time I suppose.

Love the photo!
