One Beautiful Day . . .

IMG_0945

It was worth thirteen hours of travel with a very grumpy two year old to come to this place.  In this place I don’t worry about screaming babies or fighting children. In this place I feel peace.  In this place I feel God’s love for me and learn of his desires for me. In this place I find refuge from a busy world. This place is the Holy Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and on August 19th the Hubby’s baby sister was married here.

Our children were decked out in their finest wedding day duds, including Mr. Owlie who looked so dapper in his bowtie!

All the little girls were in ruffles from head to toe and peeked through the temple doors waiting for a glimpse of the new bride and groom.

And then they were before us, kissing and grinning like they were madly in love or something. The nerve of some people!

Thomas and Chelsea were made for each other. They are both such genuine, kind and happy people. I am so thrilled for their new life together.

Everything about this day was beautiful. Being with family, being reminded about the covenant I made with my husband sixteen years ago, feeling the the Spirit of the Lord blessing a new union – it was a great day! I hope you’ll enjoy a few more shots from Thomas & Chelsea’s wedding day:

Hannie B and Owlet were so stylin. Is that a pic of the cake with ruffled fondant frosting? It looks like it was a beautiful elegant event at least until the DJ took over.

It was a beautiful wedding all around.

I haven't been to a wedding in a long time. I miss being a part of that beautiful, joyful and sacred moment.

The little girls' dresses are adorable and the wedding cake looks amazing! The bride and groom are glowing, you can't get off to a better start than a temple marriage.
