RedDog’s Big Day . . .

IMG_0626

On Saturday the little boy who came into our lives eight years ago with red hair and a sweet temperament was baptized.

It was a very special day for RedDog. He was surrounded by his family, including both sets of grandparents and beloved cousins who traveled from around the country, his closest and best friend who drove home from vacation just to be there, wonderful neighbors who make living in Virginia so great and members of our church congregation whom we consider the dearest of friends.

Earlier in the day I asked RedDog if he was nervous or had any last questions before we went to the church.  He exclaimed, “No Mom, but I’m just so EXCITED!” Later that night as I knelt with him to say his prayers he thanked God for letting him be baptized and asked Him to help him feel the Spirit every day of his life.  I may have cried a little.

We’re so blessed to have this sweet little fellow in our family. He really is excited about making right choices and pleasing his Heavenly Father.

Congratulations RedDog on making a covenant with God.  He will bless you. And you have blessed us.

Though I don't know them personally it seems you are raising wonderfully good children. What a special day!

Congrats to your family! Especially to Soren. I love going to baptisms because the Spirit is so tangible. Just got me excited thinking about my Andrew's big day in October!
