Random Thoughts: Mid-Summer Edition . . .

IMG_0649

  • We’ve got a serious and possibly incurable pacifier problem going on here if this picture is any indication.  Look how happy he is. YIKES.
  • We’re all suffering from PVLD (Post Visitor Let Down) at our house. It’s quiet and lonely now that family is all gone.
  • I have to pick every last stringy thing off a banana before I can eat it.  Am I the only one? No wonder my kids have food issues.
  • My photobro wants me to mention him every three weeks on my blog. Hey Chris, you and Tyler Farrar have the same chickenhawk.
  • I’m in complete denial that my baby (you know, the pacifier addict) is turning two on Saturday.
  • Cancer is evil and I hate it. Seriously. It just keeps coming. I love you Miss Linda! Fight on and know I’m thinking of you. And Rest In Peace Dylan Shaw.
  • My sister-in-law has mauve as one of the colors for her wedding. Huge surprise to go shopping and find out that mauve ACTUALLY IS everywhere right now. Quick – name two colors that go good with mauve.
  • My oldest child has left me for the second time this summer.  I miss him so much. It’s weird.
  • I could eat hummus and multigrain chips all day long. But not stringy bananas.
  • Pinterest is my newest friend. Pinterest is also my newest enemy. Serious timesuck. Serious fun.
  • I am completely defeated by the fact that I will NOT be seeing the last Harry Potter movie on opening night at midnight. Stinkin’ parental responsibility.
  • Our family’s summer to-do list is in full swing. We’re doing some fun stuff this year.  More on that later.

Okay, now that I’ve gotten all that off my chest, I think I’ll sleep real good tonight. Happy Wednesday!

Random responses:

There's a fine line between yummy & gross as far as bananas are concerned and that line is made up of those stringy thingies.

Two years old?! I'm in denial with you.

I too wish I could be with the midnight crowd on Friday.

Mauve, cream, silver. That's a toughie, but you're up for the challenge.

I know all about the family withdrawal syndrome. My answer to that: chocolate chip cookies and milk.

Mauve, cream and brown.

Strings on bananas a big no no and also bananas that are too ripe.

Too ripe bananas are an excuse to make Coconut Lime Banana Bread or Blueberry Banana Muffins, no strings allowed.

He's acting like a two year old, except for the baby binkies.

I can wait until Monday to hang with Harry, Hermione and Ron as I don't like going with the crowd. I just finished reading the Hallows again last night at 2:00am

I HATE cancer too. Off to see dear Linda today, I'll report.

Peel the banana backwards (from the bottom to the top) and the stringy things disappear. I love you.

Hummus and chips all day long, you bet! Mauve would go well with cream and black.

Looking for a delightful picture with mauve tones...head to ikea.com and look at their most recent brochure. I'm in search of the perfect apartment so I can have a bedroom to decorate :) I.Heart.Ikea

I agree with everyone else, strings on bananas are gross and they have to be the perfect amount of ripe otherwise they are just nasty.

Happy Summer!

I love your random post. There is a little bit of everything. Lines that made me laugh (the banana thing and the stinkin' parental responsibility), lines I completely agree and are serious business (I also hate cancer!).
I've heard of picterest, but I don't want to know much about it, just in case I like it. I don't have time to waste! ;)

So happy to hear that you are enjoying your Summer and that is filled with lots of interesting things.
