On My Nightstand . . .

Ever wonder what I see first thing when I roll over in the morning? If I roll to the right I'm staring at a really cute, freckly Hubby {and usually a bald little Ollie who's having a morning snug}. But when I roll to the left I see this:

It's my current reading stack.  I'd like to say it eventually gets smaller, but it doesn't. I keep adding books to the bottom of the pile. I'm pretty committed to reading from the top down and I try to read at least two chapters a night, unless I get completely obsessed with a book which usually results in me reading until 2:30 in the morning and waking up with a book hangover.  Do you have any books I need to add to my pile?

Here's the rest of my morning greeting brigade:  a pacifier, a marking pencil, some flashcards I've been showing Ollie, a Sunday School manual, a delicious Anthropologie candle, some pretty-to-look-at books and porcelain and a nice fat $50 bill just waiting to be spent on some spring clothes.
What about you?  Go peek at your nightstand and tell me what greets you this morning!

My night stand: a phone, a book of poems, a pair of errant earings, some dust and a lamp. The books I'm reading are stashed all around the house.

I have like 5 or more books to read... One I'm really anxious to start is "World Without End" by Ken Follet. I really loved his book "The Pillars of the Earth"... but never find the moment to start it.
In fact in my night stand there are my notes from Medical School... now cardiology... for now it's enough. ;p

Dust on my night stand and more dust on my lamp. My book stash is on my computer. I'm an addicted e-book reader.

The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society is really good. I loved it. I've heard good things about Hunger Games too. For some heavy reading try 1776 or John Adams. These books were so good. Well worth the 6-7 weeks it took me to read each one.

Large book "Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell", a lamp, a headlight for late night reading, a glass of water, alarm clock, stack of very old books, 5 pictures ( 3 large leaning against the wall) (2 small a silhouette of Scrooge, small engraving of the Nauvoo temple), bookmark made by Sylvia and some pills I forgot to take...and right next to the dresser a stack of about 15 books waiting to be read.
