Hey cute boy! I don't know anyone who has more excitement for life and the little things than you. This picture is worth a million words because on your face is written a love for scouting, a love for doing projects with your dad and a love for creating things.
I love that you cried when they had to postpone the Pinewood Derby due to an ice storm. I love that you asked me every day after that when they would reschedule it. I love that you sanded your car until it was baby bottom smooth. I love that you agonized over what color to paint it and then settled on classic black and named it "The Shadow".
I love that on the morning the race finally came, you were so excited that you were twitchy and giddy with excitement. I love that even though there were other cars that had the mark of a dad on them (professional paint, trim, etc.) you thought your car, which had to be drilled to shreds to make weight, was still the most magnificent of them all.
And I love, that even though this little boy beat you for first place (which you truly, truly believed you would get) you held your head high and accepted the outcome. You, my little but not so little boy, are a true winner and I love you to pieces.
Ps. I really love that you added your LAST Pinewood Derby car to the box that holds the other three for safe keeping to share with your boys when it's their turn to race. (all photos by Jason Delhoyo)

Fabulous pictures! The one at the top is priceless.
OK, you've convinced me. I need to get pregnant at least one more time so I can have a son.
He is so stinkin' cute. And I needed a happy post today. The day just didn't get any better. Swimming lessons were a bust and I almost had to take out the stupid registration woman. Ugly.
But your boy? Not Ugly!! Super CUTE!!!
Very sweet and very uplifting. I needed a cute story like that after the cruddy day I had. There's no doubting how cute you little man is.
Chris may not have won first place with his car but he surely has when it comes to being a great scout. Just look at the perfection of his uniform and all the awards he's earned. What a lucky grandma to have such a super grandson. He's a BIG winner in my book!
Your cute boy is darling! I respect your letting him do his sans the dad touch! I'm such a fan of kids doing - oh, I dunno - their own projects?! What a cutie!
Chris may not have won first place in the pinewood derby, but he has won first place in our hearts. And I'm proud that he chose to wear his whole scout uniform the right way instead of just throwing on his shirt.
Christopher kind of looks like a baby gorilla in the second picture, which really is cute. Proud of that young buck.
