What is it about a large pile of dirt that draws a little boy out of doors for some climbing and mess making? I don't know, but I watched it happen again today as Soren donned his Wellies and climbed the mulch pile in the street in front of our house. Never mind that it was steaming, and wet and smelly. He dug for a long time with his shiney silver shovel and felt like he was on top of the world! I didn't bother to tell him what it was made of - we just went with the "organic material" thing. He was fine with that and very happy to be in it.
By tomorrow, the pile will be gone and the Hubby will be tired from dragging wheelbarrow after wheelbarrow of it into our back yard. He's making the place look spit spot for our visitors who arrive on Friday. We'll have eight extra people in the house and it's guaranteed to be a great time. Look at the RedDog . . . he's already having a blast!
