Happy Birthday Hannah!
Eight years ago today, this crazy witch was just a tiny baby in my arms wearing a little bow stuck to her head with Karo syrup. Now she's a bright, artistic, dramatic and funny little girl who makes me laugh and brightens my day (alternating with making me cry and want to pull my hair out!)
Hannah is a freckle faced cutie! She's the little comedian of our family. Example of a joke made up by Hannah:
Q: Why did the toilet paper roll down the hill?
A: It was looking for the bottom.
Hannah is our resident artist. I still refer to the picture I have of her at age 2 sitting up to the table drawing with crayons like she's a seasoned pro. Her school teacher just commented to me the other day that Hannah stunned her by drawing a picture of herself looking at the mirror where the perspective is looking at the back of Hannah's head and seeing Hannah's face reflecting in the mirror! I don't know why she does, but she just gets it.
Hannah is my little organizer (the apple does not fall far from the tree). She loves to rearrange things and tidy up her clothes or line up her shoes. She loves to label things and have them in their right place. She gets excited when I say, "Let's go organize the play room!"
Hannah is my good eater. For her birthday tonight we ordered Chinese at her request. I just smiled as I watched her eat two helpings of just about everything. She'll eat whatever we put in front of her . . . and she steers towards the international! But she's always sure to let me know she only likes her avacadoes "squished" (guacamole). Good thing she's got her dad's speedy metabolism.
Hannah's a little slugger! She can whack a softball like it's nobody's business and then dart around the bases like a little jaguar. She's pretty speedy for a girl with asthma!
Hannah is a snuggler. She loves to jump in with me in the morning and let me rub her tummy and smooth her hair out from the night time hairdresser. She loves her blankies, especially when they get cold in the night and she can tuck them up under her chin for a little refresher.
I love Hannah. I love her for all of the reasons above. I also love her because she is my partner in girliness in this house. We are buddies. I am so glad that eight years ago, the day after Halloween, that little pumkin came into my life!

Beautiful Tribute to Hannah. We hope she had a very Happy Birthday! I can't believe it's been eight years. WOW.
I love Hannah too. She's all the things you said and more, she's my oldest Grand Daughter. Lucky me.
