A Rescue Mission . . .

Last night my friend Linnea (the one with breast cancer) called in a moment of crisis. She's one day past her first chemo session and her children were running around like screaming banshees and she sounded like she was about to snap. She told me she needed soup and quiet. I quickly offered to come get her and take her where ever she needed to go. I was on a little rescue mission.

Little did I know that three hours later, the person who'd been rescued was me. Linnea and I had a quiet dinner at a small nowhere restaraunt. We talked about cancer and China. She gave me great advice, listened to all my concerns and fears, laughed with me, cried with me and just generally gave me her ever optimistic outlook on life and big changes. She shared with me a few of the coping strategies that she's using in her trial that totally apply to the China situation and were really what I needed to hear.

I know that Linnea needed my help last night. I now know that I also needed her help last night. The Lord knew that we could help eachother, and it was certainly no mistake that he brought us together to lift eachother out of our individual hard spots. I am so thankful for amazing friends and a Father in Heaven who knows me.
