Why I "Heart" Fall!

It's really starting to feel like fall - leaves are drifting lazily to the ground from the trees and crunching beneath my feet, the Halloween decor is out, the kids are finally settling back into school, and I have finally picked my rear up from the computer desk and returned to my regular workout schedule at the gym.

Unfortunately, it has been like starting ALL OVER AGAIN! I took the summer off from the gym, convinced I would be dedicated enough to workout from home. Ha! I didn't exercise once at my house. I did hop on the bike a few times, but always with the family, and never for long enough to make a difference. We did take lots of walks, but again, when you are trying to pace yourself so that a four year-old's legs can keep up, it barely counts as exercise.

So I'm back at the gym. And hurting in so many ways. Today I went to Wendy Garcia's step aerobics class. I attended her class faithfully, twice a week for nine months last year and actually starting to feel like I was getting the hang of the moves at about month six. Then I quit for the summer and now I'm a total clutz again. Class nearly killed me today. But I'm so glad I went - just to see Wendy who has lost 53 POUNDS since May! She looks amazing! Very motivating!

Which brings me to one of my other favorite fall things (besides apples, pumkins, long sleeve shirts, candy corn) -- new fall TV! I have always had a few favorite shows I follow devotedly, namely Lost, The Office and Ugly Betty. This year however, I have discovered a reality show (don't cringe) that I love - The Biggest Loser, Tuesday nights on NBC. I am seriously cheering for these people to step on the scale and lose more weight, to be healthier and happier. Wendy looks like she's been on that show! Check it out sometime . . . and be committed to getting healthy yourself.

I always love your eloquent writings, but I'm having a hard time "heart"ing fall when it's in the 90's but I still love you.

I love fall time too, but it is not in the 90's here it is in the 60's and 50's--a little too cold at times. Good Luck with your new workout schedule. I am doing the same. I took off two days last week because I was sick and even that short of time I was sore today from Wednesday's class. Feels good to stay healthy though.
