Something hilarious happened while we were in Utah.
After a good four hour stretch of lake, boat and beach play during the Hubby’s family reunion, Ollie sat down in a chair and firmly declared that he was done.
There he sat for a mere three minutes observing the rest of the family still at play. I could see his eyes glazing over and his body sinking lower and lower in his chair.
And then this happened.
From a kid who NEVER EVER naps. I think we wore him out. He slept like that for an hour! It might be my favorite picture of the Summer. It kind of sums up how I’m feeling right now.
EXHAUSTED. DONE IN. TUCKERED OUT.
It’s been a wonderfully full Summer. I am trying to eek out a few more memories before the kids go back to school after Labor Day. I am also trying to get them to work hard at our house – part of my plan to make them WANT to go to school instead of be at home.
I can’t lie – I look forward to getting back into a routine. But I dread knowing that my chauffeur duties to practices and lessons are about to resume and that our calendar is filling up quickly.
I just want to sit in a chair and let my eyes glaze over a little and maybe zonk out for a bit. Does anyone else feel wiped out from “relaxing” this Summer?

Did he wake up with a stiff neck, that sleeping position looks really uncomfortable.
What summer? We had one....?
The year is pretty much over for me.
I'd like maybe a another week... this summer went too fast for me.
Zonked out over here too!
I crave routine, but I'm about to enter your world: multiple sports, music, scouting obligations and that part takes some serious Cruise Director skills!
I wish I just had a few days off this Summer... But I didn't, except for Sundays. :)
Today I was counting the times I went to the beach this Summer, only 4 times...
I may have some days off around October/November (I'm crossing my fingers) so I'm looking forward to it.
I understand why to need routine back again, but even if you are tired now, I think you created great memories this Summer.
Love Owlie's sunkissed cheeks!
I've decided what I need is a real no kidding vaction.
