The Ice Man Cometh
It's always fun when you go to sleep with a wish and wake up having it come true. Our overnight temperatures dropped just low enough to turn the forecasted rain to ice and cover everything with a beautiful sheet of the slick stuff.
My wish was that school would be cancelled, and it was. (I know Utahns - it's crazy - but we just go with it) I love to have a day off with my kiddoes! So, we are all still in our jammies and playing hard in the house. I do love to look outside and see the trees - each branch and twig looks like it's been dipped in glass.
Please, though, don't even think about feeling jealous for our fun situation today - we are in school until June 19th because of the 15 snow/ice days built into our school year. When your state is wimpy about the weather - you pay for it on the back end! That is why we will make today worth every last minute!

Yeah! I'm hoping that you kids are having a fun happy day. I was out at 7:30 taking pictures myself. The trees look so awesome. Have a great day and fun tonight.
Great pictures as always Sam! Have fun hanging out in your jammies. Nothing better than a day of rest.
It's true that Virginia is weak when it comes to snow days. It would have to snow a foot here in Colorado for school to be cancelled. I honestly remember getting out of school in Virginia for freezing rain. I tell people that here and they just laugh.
those pictures are awesome!

Your blog really has kept me smiling. You still have such a wonderful outlook on life!! That is so refreshing!
Hope you and the kids had a wonderful day! Where were those snow days when we were in Heidelberg?
Lots of hugs and prayers your way!
Elizabeth
Last winter they CLOSED THE AIRPORT in Denver, but still didn't cancel school. I don't know what it's gonna take...
